The
Court Hill Preservation Association is a non-profit organization in
the state of Iowa that was developed by concerned homeowners living
in the Court Hill and Fifth Street
Bluff Historic Districts in Ottumwa, Iowa. The group’s primary
goal is to promote renovation projects to enhance our unique
historic district. Ottumwa has been blessed with some great
historic architecture which is truly worthy of preservation.
Architects from across the U.S. worked on many of the homes in this
area in the mid-nineteenth and early twentieth century. Some
of the homes were designed by famous architects and were featured in
magazine layouts during the early 1900’s. We believe that much
of this history and architecture is being lost because of the
expense, time, and effort needed to maintain these historic homes.
The organization plans to help local homeowners that live within the
boundaries of these districts with their restorations.
